We have all heard the incredible tale of the 2004 Sumatra Quake and the Tsunami Wave, which followed and how one Indian tribe the night before left for higher ground. But how did they know of the future events that would unfold? Some say this is a modern mystery and thus it was brought up recently in an online think tank when one member stated;

How can an indigenous Indian tribe predict and sense precursory Earthquake waves and know a Tsunami is coming and leave the day before for higher and safer ground? Fascinating questions indeed and perhaps worth exploring; in fact one online think tank is doing just that as one member recently stated;

It is amazing how the World came together to help the victims of the Sumatra Earthquake. Billions of dollars poured into the region and it was a Herculean Effort indeed. Even two former Presidents got together in a non-partisan funds drive to secure the help needed. And the United States brought in Cargo Ships, Helicopters and water making vessels to assist.

It was a calm day at the beach. The tropical sun shone mightily embracing beach-goers with the warmth of Indonesian hospitality. Children can be heard screaming playfully on the white sands. The unperturbed scene was typical of an Indonesian holiday despite the winter cold elsewhere in the world. Then, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake originated undersea shook off the coast of Sumatra. About a couple hours following the quake, some force suddenly seemed to draw all the seawater from the shores as if a low tide quickly arrived. It took only a few minutes after 30-meter waves, higher than coconut trees, swept the unprepared resort visitors and left their bodies drifting out to sea.
