9 Days Java (Bali to Jakarta)

Day 1. Denpasar to Bromo.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel then driven to Bromo via Gilimanuk and Ketapang.

Day 2. Bromo to Batu.

Early morning wake-up call for the ride on a sturdy mountain pony to watch the sunrise over the edge of the crater. After breakfast, drive to the mountain resort of Batu for a well- earned rest.

The dominant religion in Jakarta is Islam, and the currency used is the Rupiah. The climate in Jakarta is very hot and humid. For the six months from April, the temperature will hover around 30 degrees Celsius. There is a wet season from October to February when it is a little cooler and there is a lot of rain, often torrential.

Well, it looks like Indonesia is about ready to have another huge Earth Event. In the last few years they have had massive Earthquakes and a giant Tsunami, which killed nearly 200,000 people. Now the people of Indonesia face a huge Volcano. However, the islands people do not see volcanoes as bad, but rather as messages from the gods.

The Sumatra Earthquake and the Great Indonesia Tsunami, which followed was the most devastating natural disaster and killer of our modern era and present period. Billions of dollars poured in to help the surviving victims. After the area was mopped up we see that left behind is an eco-system mini-disaster. Cleaning up this environmental disaster has not been easy, but still more work needs to be done.

Therefore on behalf of an online Think Tank Forum, I propose that we get specific and concentrate on the biggest and most pressing concerns to heal the environment and protect life.
